Today I finally posted the picture of the log home we are going to build. This is only the basic design. The kitchen & dining room will be moved to the other side of the house. The floor plan is going to be changed around to meet our needs and to fit some of our furniture we have. Yesterday we checked out the Boat doctor for docks and got some good ideas. We also went to the Fireplace store to check out stoves & fireplaces as well as the Home Depot for brochures of flooring, Cabinets, Counter tops, Tubs & Showers
Natasha
Natasha was my helper today. We found out that she has a tumor on her liver on Monday. She has been there every day helping me since we started the house so I decided to give her a front row seat watching me work.
Log Bed
The basic frame of the log bed is shown in this low quality photo. I'm not sure how the spots got there but as you can see it's starting to come together

Cedar Post Railings
This is the planning stage of the cedar railings for the loft. They will be shorter than they are and will have a rustic log look

This plant was given to us by my mother because she did not have a good spot to climb in her garden. As you can see it has done well in its new location. I call it the Richard D in memory of my dad.
Downstairs Bathroom
It starting to look like a finished room. Now that we have lights and water the switches can be installed soon.

The grout is completed and the last coat of joint compound went on today. Paint & trim will complete the room so the new vanity and toilet can go in.

Patti & I completed the center piece for the front entry. Most of the tile was accumulated over the years by Patti and was designed and cut by both of us

Our new furnace
We now have a new state of the art furnace in the basement. The fuel tank is on the east wall just under the rear entrance. It will be filled on the North side so the connections won't show
